Greystones Harbour New Years Eve 2014

#1 Post by eyesreilly »

People:me and the aptly named Neil Brown

Duration:9pm till 1-30am

Tide:dropping

Weather:nice

Bait:combos of lug/mack, lug/squid

Rigs:2 and 3 hook flappers

Results:Pollock, Rockling , Whiting and Scorpion fish

Report: Just did a report and then lost the bloody thing so this will be short and sweet  Basically I went to Greystones Harbour with Fishface to get the first fish of 2015. It was lashing down rain when I left the house but it was dry in Greystones  Neil didnt last long 'cos he developed anal leakage and had to hit the Hiway. I think the smell was putting the fish off anyways as he wasn't having his usual successful night. The good news is that he survived the trip home and doesnt need to get the car valeted  Before he left he got a whiting double. I had a good night with plenty of doubles of mixed Pollock,Whiting and Rockling, with a Scorpion fish also making an appearance. First fish of 2015 was a double of 5 beard rockling and the last fish of the night was the best , a pollock of 32cms. Here are my usual photos,,,lots of them  Happy New Year to you all

PS The teatowel was supplied by my daughter Sarah who also supplied me with the best surprise ever by arriving home on Christmas Eve from Down Under.
