Report: The plan was to hit youghal from last week but with the lack of crab around dublin my hopes were nearly gone. untill a friend told me sowrds had some ☺. We set off about 2:30 and me with very high hopes after my clonker last year. Arrived at the carpets around 5:10pm high water their was a few fishing but not much happining rods were tapping away with crab nibbles. Over an hour went by and all was still quiet then antokildares rod got a good thump and the first cod of about 2 and a half pound so spirits lifted. Things wore still all quiet for me so half hour went by and THUMP antokildares rod bending under pressure after a good scrap cod about 4 and a half landed. Me still not off the mark so things carryed on like this with anto getting a clonker every half hour at about 10 i saved my blank when i say a little nibble and lifted up tp a nice codling of about 1lb. Antokildare was soon suit with another cod about 4lb 11pm came and taught my luck was out then thump after a good fight a 4lb cod landed and a happy fisherman ☺. Just before we called it a night and who new it antos rod was neatly knocked out of rod stand and a grate fight a happy angler and a 5 maby 6lb cod on the bank we called it a night. With a lovley mc donnals we said farewell to cork untill after christmas. Anto ended up with 9 fish in total not all keepers and i had my 2 untill next time... happy christmas to all and happy new year.
