Fished a match here on Sat night. Now aggravated pinfishing (with heavy gear anyway) and doggie bashing are not my thing, I just tag along with the bro-in-law once a month to see the guys and have some craic.
We were actually supposed to be on Cushendun but it was a mess so we moved to Ireland's premier back-up venue.
I even drew an outside peg which was wasted on a no-hoper like me : ) Anyway, I said I'd try the pinfishing for a while but after a couple of experiences of measuring sub 20cm fish, I quickly asked myself what the F I was doing and whacked on the 2/0 rig. In soccer parlance, I benched myself.
It fished pretty well with several round fish around the 3/4 lb mark. No big boys but no plague of doggies (got 1) or pinfish either so I can't complain. Was way too calm for a really good fish to show up IMO.
Anyway, that's me done for another month so it's eyes down for some pleasure fishing once again.
