Report: Had arranged to take the lads to Youghal for a session, left Limerick around 9ish and managed to meet every slow moving vehicle on the way to Cork . Eventually got to Youghal just after 11, picked up the bait and had a little nosy around before the 2 lads arrived. Haven't fished green park this year so decided to give it a lash, got the gear set up but the tide was still very low so relaxed for a while, plus didn't want to clatter the two lads below me on the beach . Joe and Dan arrived on so while the lads were setting up the tide had filled in enough so as to be able to put out a bait, so launched a bait out.
Weed was a bit of a problem on the rise and my first bait back garnished with a lovely green salad . While I was clearing the salad the 2 lads got their baits out, there was bit of banter at this stage about a small comp for the biggest fish but judging on our previous form we'd be happy to catch something at this Daniel pulled in the first plump codling. Shortly after Joe had a nice codling, this went on for a while all while I was clearing Youghal of copious amounts of weed . At times bit detection because of weed was a problem plus the weed at times was causing the lines to wrap.
I eventually got off the mark with a nice codling that I didn't even realise was on till I retrieved the line, blank saved . Towards the top of the tide I got a nice rattle on one if the rods which produced a lovely painted ray of 8lb.
Daniel had a coalie and Joe had 2 woof woofs. We put back a load of smaller codling, all in all great days fishing, will try and get some pics up later

We're like a flock of birds this time of year, we migrate towards Youghal for the winter the Shannon estuary and Clare can be poor at best.

Hi feathers
Problem on the rise as the weed was dragging on the lines but from about half way up it was fine, and no problem on the drop. Best of luck on Thursday
