Nothing again today at Greystones south beach on the rising tide. I've heard they are hit and miss on the east coast but this is unprecedented for me this year. A couple, not far from me who were bait fishing had a few small pollock that's all.

Was down Dun liore harbour today, local can gang catching joeys with nearly every cast.. Needless to say they were keeping every one. Some were even feeding the local seal with them.

It was pointless trying to fish with so many lines out plus the hungry seal..

Highlight of the day was the young lad catching a superb Wrasse whilst hand lining down the side of the pier....

Never seen the mackerel so small before.

Wicklow only had one day and they were all joeys that was over a week ago since then not one fish caught..

People work to look forward to fishing, for those who can't fish stay in work there's nothing better.

Mackerel are hitting German Sprat type lures at night and floated bits of mac strip, one at a time way more enjoyable then ducking leads and crossing lines, a man can hear himself think sitting in a chair with a flask of coffee

Excellent pal. Can't go wrong relaxing with light gear single hooks wrapped up for cold nights.

I don't know the exact migratory patterns of squid ,but the skerries and bslbriggan trawlers target them from the first week of December till Christmas ,they usually get a good few and most are a large size
