People:me my brother and my dad(charter boat)
Duration:2 hours charter trip
Tide:rising
Weather:sunny and calm
Bait:feathers
Rigs:multicoloured feathers set of 3
Results:1 5.5lb pollock and about 80-100 mackerel only kept 3
I caught my record sized fish. The biggest fish ever. The only problem is when I went to gut him there's was a lot of wormy things at the end if his stomach. I through him away as I wouldn't risk it. What happened him. Well anyway I caught a load of mackerel but they were all small. There was only theee keepers. I'd suggest don't waste your time mackerel fishing until next year when they come back.
Report:big pollock small mackerel

Re: 5.5lb pollock
Nice fish . Well done .
Perhaps I shouldn't mention it at this stage but those worms are very common and are not at all harmful to humans . You'll know for next time .
Good luck

Re: 5.5lb pollock
Nice pollock, they havent got much bigger than that round here this year. As to the macks, if you'd gone out here the next day you could easily have had a boat load of fat ones or none at all, they've been very on/off all season round Killala/Donegal Bay. Your report doesnt say what region you were fishing in?
