Kenmare River

#1 Post by Anonymous »

I'm coming on holiday to Ireland soon. I'm staying on the Kenmare River at Templenoe - is it worth fishing from the shore here ? What could I catch and what baits should I use ?

Thanks for any help

I also have a uk rod licence - do I need a new one for Eire ?

MRT,

You don't need a rod licence unless you are fishing for Salmon. (If fishing for salmon you would need an additional local permit, you may also need a local permit for some trout fisheries but not in all cases.)

Kerry offers exceptional fishing of all types, have a look at the shore mark info for kerry for more info:

Templenoe west

HI MRT

Head west from Templenoe for the better marks.
The area around Gleesk though to Derrynane is good but mind the weevers on the sandy beaches.

Hope this helps... talk to Tadhg in the tackle shop in Waterville.
