help with fish species

Hi All

I was fishing in galway on Saturday and i caught this weir looking fish . it looks like a Grunard, but im not sure i caught it in what i would discribe as a bay my problem is that i heard that they cant be caught from the shore i only wish i had my camera with me

All good book shops sell books on fishing or google irish sea fish in images best of luck............

Gurnard can be caught from the shore. You can get them only a few yards out at Leenan Pier in Inishowen. They can cut you like a razorblade if you are not careful. I was not careful! :(

probabally tub gurnard they are the most commom type aroud these parts.. even though thay are not that common... last time i caught one was five years ago...

was DJing then drinking... now home to put up a report that i still have to do..
