Havent done a report in a long time but tried something different yesterday
I hit the rocks in search of a few wrasse. There was a big enough swell making things difficult as i had to fish higher up the rocks than id have liked. Thankfully i had a net with me to aid landing them. The fishing was only fair. Not as many caught as the last time i was out out and the average size was much smaller. I remembered a story from lads in Kerry who were landing wrasse on jelly snakes rigged weedless and i gave it a go. I was getting hits from the off on them but they were coming back with the tails missing. Seems like the wrasse were enjoying them as much as i was. I stuck with it and eventually landed 1 on a yellow snake. The pink seemed to get the most hits and they showed no interest at all in the purple ones. Between the fish and myself i ran out quick enough.
Back on with the "normal" sp's after that and i managed a few more but nothing to get excited about.

Re: Sweet toothed wrasse
I was using a 1/0 weedless hook. They broke up easy after a few casts. Next time ill thread some line thru them and have a circle hook hanging like a stinger. Should improve the hook up rate and keep them together a bit better.
