I am up in Donegal don't know yet if I can make it down, will know closer to the date but doesn't look hopeful.

Suggestion was to stay in Doolin. Where are we fishing? Ballyreen (not too much in the way of rock hopping, I hope)?

ballyreen is fine John. Pretty much all flat rocks.
A five minute walk down and probably 10 minutes back up.
with a few rocks to negotiate.
It will be easier than a 40 peg walk on a soft sand beach.
Once you are at your peg you are fishing off large flat rocks above the waterline.
