Most common fish you have never caught........

I was just thinking about this earlier when I was reading some catch reports and I thought it might be a good topic. I'll kick it off.

Never caught a Ray...!


I used to fish with bait quite a lot until about the last 7 years. Never really targeted them and never blasted baits out far for one but still would have expected the odd one when fishing with sandeel for bass etc.

dogfish :mrgreen: ah no i have never caught a turbo but then again i only fish for ray and hounds and have done so for years

,,,,,,,( bass ) ,,,,,,, .iv never caught a bass...... iv fished many beaches on the east coast down to wexford and never conected with a bass.and im probably fishing the past 10 or 12 years from the shore.iv fished with lug, peeler, razor, rag, mackeral, sandeel. and they just love avoiding me,,,,,also never caught. tope. bullhuss. conger, gilt head bream, coockoo wrasse, spurdog, painted ray, spotted ray. sting ray. :)i did manage a small 1lb tornback off balscadden /howth years ago

Never had a cuckoo wrasse lovely looking fish.

Never caught a ray......despite fishing a fair few hotspots :oops: Planning to put that right in two weeks when on holidays!

Never caught a cold, been out thousands of times fishing in all weathers and the cold has eluded me. :D

i have never caught long nose garfish plenty of small nose ones

I could have added Conger and Smoothies to this too. :-) Would really like to catch a Smoothie.

Some of my most WTF catches have been : Spurdog, Tope, Herring

Mullet for me as well. But like the others, I plan to change that this year.

A shore wrasse.I dont understand it considering the amount of pollock I fish for.
