sensing a bite...

#1 Post by Grumpy Angler »

Here's a quick vid of fish eating other fish...what i've noticed is that after striking and sucessfully catching their prey, the piranhas stop to eat before moving again(about half the time)....so is it resonable to say that after the initial tip on your rod when it goes slack that it is worth striking because they are activly feeding on your bait, and there's no need to wait for the rod to tip again before you strike?(if you missed the first 'tip')

just a thought!

depends what fish your after ,flat fish will nibble away and if you strike to early you wont hook up,whiting will hit your bait till its nearly gone over a few minutes till they get the hook ,other fish hit so hard its not do you strike more will you get your rod before it goes underwater  as a general rule if the back leg on the tripod lifts just reel in
