Mercury 100HP engine stolen

#1 Post by Stan »

Mercury 100HP 4 stroke engine stolen from my boat in Ferrypoint this week    . Serial no 110F13EF. The engine was almost new having been bought last May and so is in pristine condition.

I would be grateful to anyone who hears of such an engine for sale to contact me.

To make matters worse all the cable were hacked in its removal.

As it is a big engine several people must have been involved.

Jim it was on the dry in what I thought was a safe place but as Seanie says "scumbags"!! There is probably no safe place

I hope the insurance will cooperate so that I can get "Bass Hunter" back on the water. The engine was worth 11K.

I am boat fishing for 43 years and never had anything stolen. Rods, reels, handlines ( in the old days of course), radios, electronics...all left on the boat.

Just wondering where I can put my boat in October when it could be safe :!: :!:

So sorry to hear this Stan, saw it on Jim's FB at the weekend and shared it. I know its no use now but surely with all this going on there is scope there for a few ppl to get together and offer a service where engines can be stored for the winter etc, hire a premesis etc, if you got enough people interested the costs would be low.

Thanks again lads.

Eoghan, I am going to look for indoor storage for next year and have been given ideas from some of lads on the site and also from locals in Youghal and Dungarvan. I think that your idea of a group of us looking for a place is great. I will keep you informed of any developments.
