The majority of Bass fishermen I know would not even take a fish home all catch and release, if even a 100 Bass ended up in their nets that is still 100 too many.

Very true and next year it doesn't take an expert to forsee even less been landed due to some recent activity around the ballycotton to power head stretch by a boat called mod edit - careful now.... in that it is always escaping .No point in going on and on and on about this situation as its just turned into one big fat laughable joke at this stage.Commercial ban on bass fishing =JOKE.sandblaster wrote:never mind next year very few anglers caught any Bass in east cork this year!
Just hope its not the mullet who are next on the list to wipe out.

...you could fill that boat with bass and drive it into ballycotton and still nothing would happen .That's the biggest joke of all a complete joke is right......beachbuddy wrote:Very true and next year it doesn't take an expert to forsee even less been landed due to some recent activity around the ballycotton to power head stretch by a boat called mod edit - careful now.... in that it is always escaping .No point in going on and on and on about this situation as its just turned into one big fat laughable joke at this stage.Commercial ban on Bass fishing =JOKE.sandblaster wrote:never mind next year very few anglers caught any Bass in east cork this year!

pm sent regarding the naming of the boat,i was been sarcastic and actually no need to name the boat involved as the dogs on the street know what it is.

It's all so sad and disgusting,I for one will never hand money over for a licence,as far as I can see its only a matter of time before all we can catch from the shore is dogs and then they will be on borrowed time too...

Alright, I'll accept that there is no boat in that locality called "Houdini", but that there should be at least one....

Your dead right Tanglerat,or an even better name would be" the flying Dutchman",a real ghost ship, judging by the amount of times it appears and disappears

Would do anything for a bass!

if money is ringfenced to protect and develop irish angling i have no problem with a liscence.a fishery officer told me this year that 6 officers were looking after west cork!. no wonder the fish are being hammered.but if we want our fishing looked after it will cost money to do so thats the harsh reality.

You're right Sandblaster that is the reality but I'm not convinced that the money would be ringfenced even if it was stated at the outset that it would be- in other words it would just turn into a straight tax on recreational fishingsandblaster wrote:if money is ringfenced to protect and develop irish angling i have no problem with a liscence.a fishery officer told me this year that 6 officers were looking after west cork!. no wonder the fish are being hammered.but if we want our fishing looked after it will cost money to do so thats the harsh reality.

It ain't easy but it sure is simple!
