waterford

#1 Post by thelegend »

People:myself and mate ken

Duration:11pm til 5pm

Tide:rising

Weather:lovely

Bait:crab,squid, mackerel

Rigs:pennel pullys 4/0 and 3 hook flappers 1/0

Results:whiting, codling, pouting, flonder and dabs

Report:hadnt been out for and age, car loaded and off we went, beach was busy enough when we arrived but found a nice spot and away we went, had some good cod here last few years so was hopeful off a few decent nodders, wasnt to be tho as the whiting were devouring everything before anything else could get to the baits, have to say tho there were decent fish 40 - 45 cms most of them, and lots for the pan, had lots of trebles of whiting but a few very quick dabs, flounder and small codling got to a hook or two before the greedy whiting, all in all a great days fishing , badly needed, and nice to see some fish around in daytime, will be back again soon  forgot me camera, DOH!!, mate has some pics on his phone so will try upload a few if he ever sends em to me , :?

nice one james. have you tried using a whiting on a pennel pulley yet?
if there is an abundance of them around with the cod it might be worth a go to get a decent nodder  :D
