This year was a disaster for lure fishing but looking at the bellys on those bass they were out to sea feeding well over the Summer/Autumn.

No - while it was good to be catching fish a bunch of 1 lb coalfish was not what I was after.
I have put the lure rod away until next year - I probably should have done it a few months ago but its hard to adjust to the change from carrying a light lure rod and a bag of lures to going back to hauling around heavy beach casters and reels, rod stands, bait bucket and weights. I gave up taking the seat box unless fishing a beach with adjacent parking and now put reels, rig etc in a rugsack. But at least now I am catching a few decent fish!!!

I was about to pack my lure gear until I had a few plump bass a couple of weeks ago. A few more blanks in the cold should finally cure my misguided optimism though !!

Great report. RockHunter :)

I would advise you to pack it away. I have had some great bait fishing over the last few weeks!!
