People:Gavin and i

Duration:six days

Tide:all tides

Weather:mostly good

Bait:mackerel squid sandeel rag

Rigs:

Results:pollock mackerel conger wrasse

Report:A little late. 14th of sep to the 21st of sep after a long and injoyable journey from dublin to the beara we arrived to see
sunny skys abd a beautiful blue sea.
we don't fish on the first day. so sunday we tryed for some huss but no joy just dog after dog but the ever present pollock duly obliged Gavin spinning and me gigging a sandeel catching pollock every couple of casts with the odd mackerel thrown in.
the next 3 days where prity much the same dogs pollock mackerel and some wresse.
Thursday we went in search of conger and of course pollock to keep us busy no conger for gavin but i landed one he weighed in at 8lbs and we had many pollock to 4 lbs.
on friday gavin was not feeling well so on my own i packed my flask full of sandeels and of i went there was a full tide and 6pm
i arrived at the mark at 5pm i cast out an eel it was just sinking when bang rod doubled up after a great scrap i landed a fine pollock
of 5lbs great start it went on like that for the next hour and a half catching fish after fish i ran out of sandeels so the only
thing i had left was a 42gram savage gear sandeel i was getting a lot of fish following it in with the odd take it was only
when i gigged it vigorously the fish reilly started to hit it hard i ended the evening with 27 pollock most returned alive
it was one of the best sessions i ever had we finnished our week with well over 100 pollock congor mackerel dogs and wresse.

There are some great Pollock and Wrasse marks quite close to Dublin, I had some Pollock up to 7lb and some good wrasse too a few weeks back, the harder the marks are to get to the better the fishing is ;)
I'm actually down in the Beara at the moment, today I was after Pollock and Wrasse on float, which I haven't done for a long time and I lost count, a fish a cast, Wrasse up to 5lb and Pollock to 6, great craic.
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at the office!
