getting back to boating !

hi all , i am new to this site so i was wondering if i could get some advice for you ....... i am thinking of getting back into boating again , i had a boat before and now i think its time to get another , i will be doing a bit of fair weather fishing around cork harbour and not sure what type of boat would be best , maybe 16 - 20 feet ? , my last boat was a shetland , was old but fairly reilable so any suggestions would be appreciated , thanks in advance .......

was thinking maybe 5k , not going to spend too much because will not be using boat too much !

You could do worse than getting an orkney Strikeliner. Easy to tow, easy to launch, and reasonably quick with a modest sized engine.

welcome along,5k should get you something very decent these days in fairness plenty about in donedeal in that range orkneys,the odd predator and plenty shetlands

i was looking at a few from done deal , some are fairly rough for the price and some are too dear but will keep on looking ! , i saw a 19 ft shetland pacific there , anyone know anything about that type boat ? , i never heard of that type shetland before and was wondering what they would be like in the sea ?
