southbeach greystones27/7/2013

People:just me

Duration:10.30am till 6.00pm

Tide:low to high

Weather:very warm

Bait:rag mack squid

Rigs:two hook flapper,clipped down pully pennell

Results:8 dogs,loads of crab




Report:what a day when i got their few people on the beach so walked a good bit past the secound tunnel set up put whole squid on pennel rig put it out 140yards after about 15mins bang bang on the rod picked it up and wound into it and what a fight had 30pound snoods on and got bite off what a bummer dont know what it was but it was big,so fished away and it was dogs after that but a good day all the same :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Guess you will never know now pity but well done on beating the blank. Did you get a look at the fish by any chance where you bitten of or snoods break
Species 2012: Flounder, Whiting, Dublin Bay Codling, Coalie, 3 Beard Rockling, Shore Rockling, Bass, Dogfish, 5.2lb Starry Smoothhound (PB), Twaite Shad, Thornback Ray 5.8lbs (PB), LSD, Pollock, Ballan Wrasse, Cork Wing Wrasse, 43cm Flounder (PB)

Species 2013: Coalie, East Coast Codling, Smoothounds, And hopefully a back opp to get back fishing soon...

didnt get a look at the fish,was bittin off,still gutted :( :(

Unlucky with the one that got away... Sounds like a Tope to me

as said mate think you were into a tope as that beach has thrown up alot of them in the past maybe try a wire trace next time
