Just won some braid maxximus 20lb 250.
Having never used it can anyone advice best use. What strength do i use for spinning and boat.
braid line any good.

Hi Pookie,
a few things I have found out re braid -
- make sure there are no twists in the line when filling the reel - this can lead to nasty birds nests even on a FS reel
- do not use on a multiplier if you plan to cast with it (boat OK)
- pay attention to your knots when tying braid. Some knots that work well on mono don't work that well on braid - I have used a palomar knot recently and it seemd to be working well, a Uni-knot is not that reliable on braid. I guess this has to do with the line cutting into itself when under strain

As i new and have enough problems with mono-poly. i may offer it up to winner of biggest fish next meet as i got it free. Asked question in tsf mag and got printed. not much but a bit of fun and something to take home.
