Swimming with Sting Rays, Bass

People:myself, John Sheehan,Aido

Duration:six hours

Tide:coming in

Weather:warm over cast

Bait:lures

Rigs:lures

Results:5 bass




Report:Hi all I went on the 7am train to Kerry to pick up my new up tide rod and any excuse to do some fishing so i meet up with good friend John Sheehan and his mate Aido who i have to say this guy knows his stuff so when the lads picked me up from the station we went straight to the beach where the tide was out and Aido said that's the way we want it so we got here waders on and into the water waist up walking and casting here lures water was lovely see sand eels every where then i thought i was seeing things a bid sting ray swimming right by me :shock: then other :shock: i was forgetting about fishing and looking at these beautiful rays trying to a video but couldn't my phone went funny but Aido got a photo of them :mrgreen: have to say it made my day then to top the day we got a few bass :D would like to thank John Sheehan and Aido for a great day and just one more thing i am not great at reports :oops: I have got sting rays only last month with this man John Sheehan and i think yous all know by now what his caught , i am having a great year so far and it's not over yet lol :wink:

Sounds cool woudent know wethere to stay in the water or get out quick .happy days.

Good man Henry I saw the photos on Facebook some nice bass and the sting rays that was crazy. Kerry is one amazing spot. Well done on the fish and chat soon

fair play henry there is absolutley nothing wrong with that report, seen the pictures yesterday the first thing that came to my mind when i seen the heading swimming with stingers was Steve Irwin RIP. well done :wink:

Tralee bay is a great spot for the stingers who often travel in pairs, can be hge and swim very close to the shore frequently. Derrymore is a great spot for them from May onwards...

Last time I was in Kerry I was fishin for the stingers, and was very surprised as the same known area for large stingrays, there was a swimming club out :shock: when I asked about people getting stung, I was told "All the time!" its just a quick trip to Tralee General hospital. First thought was. ok these people are crazy :D :D ... Lovely report! love reading about the Prep work that goes into trips! Well done!
