West Waterford 04/07/13

#1 Post by declan65 »

People:me and one other

Duration:3 hours

Tide:last of the rise first of the drop

Weather:Summer!!

Bait:Razor

Rigs:

Results:Bass 5lbs

Report:
Hatched a plan for a daytime session as I have a bit of time off and headed to a local beach.Slack enough tides but otherwise reasonable conditions. Started fishing and immediately my mate had a really good knock but didn't connect with the fish. A good sign anyway but I soon noticed a bit of weed on the line. Reeled in, baited up and made a slight adjustment to the previous cast. No sooner was the bait in the water and the rod in the stand than my rod started bouncing , picked it up and connected with the fish. I must have hit it on the head  when I cast out, the take was instant  . The fish gave a really good account of itself and made two runs parallel to the shore before it tired and came in. To be honest given the scrap I thought it was a bigger fish but took a quick photo and a quick weighing, five lbs on the button.Happy Days 8) . Fished on for another two hours and not a sniff of another fish.

Cant see anything wrong there? Summer, daytime catch, 5lb bass? Perfect in my book! :) Well done!
