People:VIP, Topbox & me

Duration:10pm till 3am

Tide:HW @ approx midnight

Weather:Beautiful night, no wind, dry

Bait:Mackerel, mackerel and more mackerel

Rigs:Conger rigs.

Results:Poor, just one strap conger.


Report:Great night to be out fishing, few runs but not taking the bait well. Baits also getting lifted by smaller species like large rockling and dogs :evil:

Final report, may be a tad early for the big eels yet.

Hard lines mate - i think the bigs eels at that mark can smell you coming along.....

Yea, if i keep getting strap congers there for much longer you lot might try and put me in the fishophile club with Drew ( fishophile chairman ) :lol:

As I said, give it a month or two as the water warms, should start to produce.

Defo mate.

I have to keep my head low for the next two weeks.....

2 big assignments and a test next week in College :cry: :cry: - after that it's back to at least two trips per week :D :D

lee u just don't know how to fish for big eels!!!!!!!! we where up on sunday and had wrasse and the amount of line and other rubbish was nasty to look at
2010 species list: coalies, flounder, whiting, pollock, cod, doggie, sea trout, pouting, poor cod, short spined sea scorpion, long spined sea scorpion, 3 breaded rockling, shore rockling, 5 breaded rockling, tompot blenny, mackie, placie, dab, bullhuss, conger, ballan wrasse, corkwing wrasse, goldshinny wrasse,thronie, lesser weaver, bass, tub gurnard, red gurnard, grey gurnard, shanny, rock goby, turbot,

CONGER COUNTER: 42
BEST CONGER : 32LB 1OZ

no its a different one up north - used to think there were crowds down there originionally on the competition marks in clare all the time, thinking i was missing out on something
