Results: JD 1 smoothie, me 1 smoothie 1 flounder

Report: was 50-50 on getting out - was quiet knackered after being on road all week
had sweetwrasse text me during the week to get out but wasnt in until 10.30 friday night so no fishing then

jd gave me a call and was talking of fishing then going for a pint then back again - eventually we got out after he got some crab

all quiet for first 2 hours - i got bored trying for smuts and stuck out the flapper desparation kicking

jd was thinking it wasnt happening so was sayin hed head in half an hour - next thing i felt something on my pulley - thought a small one - instead it was a flounder on the crab - 39cm - good thick and healthy

was happy enough i thought with that - Jd then pulled his in - hound on - happy days
the dusk was doing the trick

next thing i pulled in my pulley again to find a hound on it - first of year - happy days 53cm

jd decides to hang on, thinking we were into a purple patch - but no that was it

the flapper was being stripped but hook ups - beach was getting very shallow as it ebbed away

stayed on another hour - then home had a bottle of lovely belfast blonde for a night cap

well worth getting off me arse, nice finish to the day

he definitely was one of the heaviest flounders i have taken off a beach on the east coast - thought they only hung out in the estuary

Nice to get out in the end, as it may be a while before I can go fishing again.
