Waterford bass 21-6-13

#1 Post by Waterwizard »

People:me & stevie

Duration:7.00 to 9.30

Tide full out at 10

Weather:wet and windy

Bait:crab

Rigs:pully

Results:2 bass

Report:Had made plans to get out Friday after work stevie was looking for his first bass this year. The weather had being fine all week and like a switch finishing work at 6 the rain and wind came :( Had got the gear ready on the lunch earlier so was all ready to go when I got home, only in the door the stevie is outside beeping. So off we went in hope is all I can say, arrived at the mark and I said to Steve are we mad...lol and he's gone rod and all down the beach. We set up rods out and stood back against the bank for shelter and he's off again back down the beach! Where the f@;k is he off 2 now I thought ? Then I see the jeep coming along the beach  get in with a smile he says. Trying to keep an eye on the rods through rain pelted window is not easy so I jumped back out and as soon as I did my rod bent over :D

Ah f@;k off is all I heard from the jeep ha ha lifted the rod and could feel a nice fish after a short fight landed a nice bass in around 6lb + about 6lb of weed!. Delighted I was full sure this was not going to be a productive session, thankfully we got a little break in the weather when the rain stopped. Stevie missed a good bite while sitting in the jeep and missed his chance on landing a billy lol.

Out he gets now as the rain is coming back down rain or no rain he was not missing another bite. My rod took another strong pull down and a slack line, picked the rod up took in the slack and waited a second. Weed is all I heard in one ear, as I lifted into the rod it went into dance mode  weed me arse ha ha as a fine bass close to 7lb greeted me.

Fished on for another hour with no joy and packed up, all in all I really enjoyed the couple of hours fishing, stevie will have to wait another day to land a bass lol I think next time he won't want to be watching his rod from the jeep ha ha.
