razor is deadly for bass, smoothhound, ray and many other species in the west, have seen them been used down SE for bass and catching them as well...

There's loads of discarded razor shels on Ballyholme beach here, maybe worth a go as bait?

on many beaches up north razor shells are washed up, but as bait it is generally unsuccessful, even after a blow etc, but sometimes its handy to have to try if other baits aint working

Cheers for that, I'll bring some next time incase the fish are being picky about what they eat :)

Here's the trick with razor.
Fishes well on some beaches all the time, Others only after a blow.
It is my experience that it fishes far better when it is gone off a bit.
I know a few guys who will not go out without it and what they do is defrost it and freeze it again a couple off times before using it to give it extra scent.

Deadly bait in some spots.

to be honest i find it best to let ALL shellfish baits to go off before use, as it adds better scent and acts more natural after a blow, if it gets uprooted by the blow, then gets buried in the surf , then naturally it will go off, then offer the fish their most natural food source at the time
