Paratech Boat Brake ( drogue )

#1 Post by blowin »

Does anyone have any experience of this particular drogue and/or know where I can get one in Ireland ?
This is the manufacturer's site http://www.seaanchor.com/ . The product sounds ideal for drifting inshore reefs . I know that there are cheaper alternatives inc DIY but I want the ease of adjustment and speed of release which this one seems to offer .
It is for a 20 ft Wilson Flyer , inshore fishing , conditions up to force 5 .
Any thoughts much appreciated .
Cheers .

Can't help really...:)
I would say you could try a cheapie or DIY solution first.
In my experience these things are a hassle and tend to get left behind after a few goes.
If the drift is that brisk you may be better off anchoring!
