Dublin Boat Marks IMELDA 3/6/13
People:two
Duration:10 hours
Tide:little
Weather:like summer
Bait:rag crab squid launce mack lug
Rigs:various
Results: (9) species. cod, pollack, whiting, LSD, Ballen Wrasse,Launce,Dab,Smoothound,Grey gurnard.
Report:well headed off for a few hours yesterday first stop was my Launce mark to get some fresh bait a few minutes later we had about 20, so off we went in search of a few animals which didnt want to play ball , had plenty of dogs and a few hounds but nothing else seemed interested in our offerings so after wasting a lot of time fishing for what dont seem to be there we went in search of a few more species, headed to a drop of deeper water and scaled things down a bit not long till we were into a few dabs grey gurnards and whiting and more dogs.
another move into an old mark of mixed ground seen us among a few cod on the first few drops the best going to 50cm with a good stamp of wrasse near to 4lb in the mixture aswell with a couple of small pollack turning up to see what was going on.
great day to be out good few fish and great weather what more could you want.
oh yes nearly for to stick the worst part of the day in i arrived back at the slip for 9pm to be met with the slip more or less taken over by two foreign nationals and their roll up boat and gear half blocking the place up, with two fine sized dying Ballen Wrasse on the slip, now the only reason they were left on the slip on display is because there was no room left in the plastic bag that was already full of them, sickening too see this type of shite going on.

Lovely session well done ,I hate to see such a beautiful looking fish being wasted,I have the same problem in my local river where a foreign man takes tiny trout that haven't even bred yet. Does anyone know if there is a legal size limit for keeping brown trout, because it really does my head in .thanks

Nice fishing John!
There are more and more of these types afloat nowadays. In my experience not really nice chaps on many levels.

Very nice fishing John1 and lovely mix of species
Shame to see the carrier bag coming out

Bassboy, I fish the River Dodder regularly. The minimum size for trout there is 9 inches. I'm not sure if size limits vary from river-to-river?bassboy wrote:Lovely session well done ,I hate to see such a beautiful looking fish being wasted,I have the same problem in my local river where a foreign man takes tiny trout that haven't even bred yet. Trout limits vary from river to river.. On my club stretch of the Boyne it's 11cm and C&R only after 1st of June. Most club members wouldn't take trout from the river. Most rivers are controlled by a club, and the FN's doing the damage, typically would not be members of the club. Might be worth getting in touch with the club and letting them know what's going on.

Most people don't even know that there is fish in it but I don't want to give the location away as it is quite small and only about 10 trout in it at the most ,It's somewhere in the camac is all ill say
