Re: anyone trying for Bass on fly at the moment
I've tried couple of times during the winter, but recent blast from the freezer left me a bit doubtful about the chances for any fish on the fly.
That's said - I'm off tomorrow. Flies freshly tied, holes in waders glued - ready for action

Well done with the sea trouts!
Went today for few hours. Picked an 'excellent spot', with wind straight into face. Casted for few hours, blanked as usual. Discovered that winter seriously crippled my never very good casting skills and for the first hour behaved more like a monkey with a fly rod than a fly fisherman, before finaly got to tempo and casts.
Tried few flies, they seems to be ok, but I need some fish on them to be happy with myself
But, still - a lovely day to be out. Sunshine, gentle, finaly warmer wind and fresh smell of sea -it is hard to imagine a better way of spending time.

i tried a couple of spots in west cork yesterday with no joy but it was a beautiful day and really enjoyed it.i was after bass but the normal site of jumping seatrout was absent warmer temperatures required the fish just weren't there.

Switched to mullets and seatrouts. More trying than getting anything, but, they say, God loves triers
Though, its nice to be out with a bit lighter rod #6
