Waterfoot Pier
Is the fishing effected much, in and around low water at this mark? Just that myself and drew are heading there tomorrow and we may possibly be fishing through low water? Hopefully we'll do better than our last appearance when we caught nothing. :twisted:

the pier is hit or miss at low water but you should give the ledges a throw we had a good day last sunday...some good plaice and coalies about and garron point congers and pollock
2010 species list: coalies, flounder, whiting, pollock, cod, doggie, sea trout, pouting, poor cod, short spined sea scorpion, long spined sea scorpion, 3 breaded rockling, shore rockling, 5 breaded rockling, tompot blenny, mackie, placie, dab, bullhuss, conger, ballan wrasse, corkwing wrasse, goldshinny wrasse,thronie, lesser weaver, bass, tub gurnard, red gurnard, grey gurnard, shanny, rock goby, turbot,

Lads - If you are heading to this neck of the woods, there are a wealth of marks to fish -
Red Bay Pier (large pier beside coal depot) - can fish well even at low tide, flatties, gurnard etc..
The Ledges (2 miles before Waterfoot) - bit of a tackle graveyard at Low Tide but is producing decent plaice at the minute...
Dalriada Jetty and the rocks all around it
Garron Point - see the post from Stuart Langridge from Saturday.

Red Bay pier is your best bet - easy access, flat ground and a bit of shelter.
If this mark is busy or not fishing well - head for Dalriada Jetty - just slightly more difficult than Red Bay pier for access but well worth a go. Come into Cushendall from Waterfoot - take the first right after the Fire Station (Dalriada Ave/Park?), travel all the way down this street until it opens up onto the shore, there is a small jetty on the left behind a wall.
If the tide is high on the way home, you can fish Carnlough Beach from the promenade, anywhere from the new church to the Ballymena Road offers clean ground, again, easy access - your pops should not have any problems.
