N.E. Coast - A Few Fish. Saturday 20/4/13

#1 Post by chuckaroo »

People: 2 of us

Duration: a few hours

Tide: low

Weather: mild, overcast, windy

Bait: squid and frozen black lug

Rigs: SPs

Results:

must still be a bit early as the fishing was very slow. we only managed a fish each at a mark that usually produces some decent pollack and coleys. it was a hard climb down to and from the mark and hard work for only a little reward but it was nice to be out and at least there was the sign of a few fish about. chucked out a 2 hook flapper at one stage baited with a whole squid and a frozen black lug, let it soak for half an hour but there was no interest in it at all. might have a go this evening elsewhere with the soft plastics again..

The Pollock are still very scarce around here yet, usually we would be hitting some decent ones by now along with the Macks but everything is in slow mode this year!! Nice wee Pollock roll on the summer
