Wicklow(5 mile) 19/04/2013

#1 Post by timod »

People:Me, John and Harry

Duration:Me:19.45-3.00 John&Harry:17.30 ish-22.30

Tide:Drop & Rise

Weather:Bit of a breeze then nice and calm

Bait:Rag, mack, frozen peeler.

Rigs:Flappers and pulleys

Results:Flounder, dabs, whiting, codling and lots of dogs!

Report:
Arranged to met up with John and Harry for a few casts, got a call on my way to the beach and the lads were in to few fish already with flounder, dabs and whiting showing. Was glad to hear of a few fish stirring as its been a long time since I've been out and didn't fancy a blank! Got down to the beach, had a chat with the lads and got set up. Plenty of fish knocking around with most of the fish being taken on the first few hours of the drop. Few out fishing last night including a young couple who had just taken up fishing and were sharing a rod. Lucky man that lad, think all my problems would be solved if a night session on the beach with herself was considered quality time  Fishing had gone a bit slow before the lads packed up around half ten but picked up again towards low water, starting getting doubles of doggies with the odd pin whiting in between. Was getting plenty of dogs with a short lob early on in the night but towards the end I was getting no bites in close with all fish being taken with a bit of distance. Great to get out a shake off the cobwebs and great to see things picking up on the beaches. Took a few pics but I'm in work for the weekend and didn't bring the camera so might upload them again.

Sounds like a good session 8) .
I've been giving the 'fishing as quality time' the hard sell but its still not working. Probably for the best ;-)
It ain't easy but it sure is simple!

grand report tim  very enjoyable few hours i was just happy enough just been able to go fishing for a few hours :) . you 3am finish your propper nuts
yes the young couple have it all ahead of them :D , brought back the memories for me when herself used to have no problem treaking all over the place to go fishing, then the kids happend to come along so that put a stop to that, she might come out in the boat with me a couple of times a year thats about it.

we will do it again soon
