For the majority of lures like Feed Shallow size I use Decoy size 4 trebles.

Towards the end of last year I fitted Decoy Plugging Single hooks to some of my lures. This had no difference on my hook up rate BUT more importantly I found it so much easier to unhook fish for a quicker release and the fish had less of a chance of being mutilated by 9 hooks (3 trebles) as opposed to 3 single hooks.

I'll be fitting more singles to my lures for this season.

Having just read Jim Hendricks recent blog this morning where he said that bass may swallow bait fish head first I would remove the middle one myself.
Try the single hooks on your favorite lure. Trust me it doesn't affect hook up rate at all on sub surface lures. They may surprise you.

Like Crevan I use the Decoy Pluggin Singles and have them fitted on all my sub-surface bass lures. I use the 1/0 size Decoys and find it a good general size for the popular lures (feed shallow, zonk, X-140 etc.). I use the 1/0 only to avoid the hassle/expense of buying different size hooks for each lure. But you can of course buy different sizes if you prefer. AGM also do some cheap ringed Matzuo single hooks which should also work. I have used these (I can't remember the exact model) for sp's and the quality is fine.
