Yeah mate, i'm just not so sure of my beach fishing credentials, i may not need it very much, i'm more of a dangle it over the edge and catch a tiddler type person myself!

I do however live five minutes walk away from Ballyholme beach so i guess i should get some practice in over the summer... 8)

well, its easier on your rod to rest it on a tripod head attached with a bungee cord to a pier railing than setting it straight onto the railing itself as well
Not the BigPhil from Irish Angler mag, I'm the original, i swear!!!!

bit of advice mate amnesia is good for flapper rigs but stretches with time and will muck up you clip down rigs even with an srt spring used the snood becomes to long through stretch and the rig usless

Have used amnesia for years on clipped downs and yes it is a problem but not that big a deal. I though snood stretch was a part of everyday life... what are you guys using instead?

Anyway here's my solution to this one. I never "clamp" crimps down. When making clipped down traces I always tighten the crimps until they are just moveable with extreme thumbnail pressure. Now if snoods stretch or even if I have to replace a damaged hook or anything I can adjust the crimps and adjust the tension on the rig until it's perfect again.
