Hi, has anyone any simple ideas for keeping birds off the boat, she will be moored from April till September and having watched videos of the disdain that birds show for the contraptions on sale I am very skeptical of buying one .
Any ideas would be appreciated

Re: Birds
Hi, I have a merry fisher and use a gull sweep and find it great. On an occasion when I have forgotten to put it on before leaving, the boat was well dashed when I returned a week later. Well worth the price!!

I use the 4 foot diameter and have it on the roof of the wheel house. Occasionally I find crap in the cockpit but a quick scrub sorts that. In my opinion bird crap on the wheel house roof and bow is the worst to clear!

Re: Birds
Not being a mooring person I would not have know what to call the "Bird Sweep". I see a lot of guys with a plastic owl - any good?
