A slightly impromtu session today, Drew decided to come around to my house to help me choose some new tackle in the shop later. As i had some frozen fillets at home we decided to try some 'mini species bashing' using very light spinning rods, Drew used an old 6 foot solid fibre glass spinning rod that used to slaughter fish for me as a kid, i was using an 8ft Shakespear 'Mentor' spinning rod. I, somehow, caught the only two fish of the day, a small Pout and a small Pollack caught on the inside bend of the pier (both on Sandeel), old school style, right off the edge   The Weather was absolutely terrible and made us leave the pier for an hour so we got something to eat before i coaxed him back, that maybe lasted another hour before enough was enough...

Hmm, forgot a potentially unfunny moment today, during one of the downpours that made us uproot and leave the pier asap, only during our shelter several hundred yards away did Drew remember that i had left my new bag of £35 worth of tackle sitting were we were fishing, thankfully, there was a huge crane and fencing blocking access to the majority of the pier so basically, we were the only ones on it today. After the torrential rain had eased i was able to go and retrieve, woohoo! Why i decided that a bag of mackeral fillets was my main priority when leaving originally, i'll never know... :?
