youghal beach 12/03/13

#1 Post by bhoy32 »

People:me

Duration:23.00 till 02.00

Tide:lw 00.10

Weather:cold calm clear

Bait:crab

Rigs:flappers and pulleys

Results:2 codling 3 coali 1 flounder 1 slug

Report:decided to see if the fishing is realy as bad as people are reporting so headed for youghal beach in search of a ray. started off fishing big baits to see if there was anything decent feeding after an hour without even a tap i changed tactics. switched the pulley for a flapper and sent it out. straight away rod was showing signs of life reeled in ten mins later nice double shot of small codling.next cast brought in another double shot an unhealthy looking flat and a small slug. went quiet then for awhile before a coali made an apperance and on the last cast brought in a double shot of coali about 8cm each

Not a bad haul considering how bad the fishing has been lately.

Nice mixed grill there, considering the bad fishing at the moment, but well done for getting out there and giving it a lash.
