Bait: maddies, wrap, mack

Rigs: 3 hook flappers

Results: 1 flounder 25cm

Report: had maddies left over from last weekend and needed to be used. hadnt fished this spot in a few years - its amazing how much you forget about a mark when your not fishing regularly

the sea was like glass - first cast and flounder on - happy days - thought the maddies were the job and would eek me out more and more fish - but no

as the tide went out i realised i got him just on the change from a steep incline to a flatter beach
as it went out more i realised there was a channel on the left which i have forgotten about, which should hold some fish and then as it went out more a big sand bar developed on the right 100m of 10cm of water!

as it went past this i could see more stringy seaweed develop and then the crabs showed

glorious night to be out, blank bet and beautiful surroundings and my memory jogged

theres a lot worse things you could do by killing 3 hours man
some unusually settled weather, fish were caught and the old grey matter was given a spring clean. sure that's what it's all about

How often have I got a fish straight away and then got nothing for the rest of the day, be it coarse, trout or sea fishing! I almost fear catching a fish too soon in case it is the only one. About 20 mins and then start catching is about right. I have come to the conclusion that when you get the only fish first cast, the fish have just stopped feeding whereas if no bites come straight away they are just about to start!

well john your theory may be right - but i would 100% rather get the fish on the first cast every time and get the dreaded blank out of the way
