gelcoat tips/help

hi all i have a few minor scratches on my boat,and have tryed to put on some gelcoat filler,but find it very hard to sand down wiyhout sanding the fiberglass,also do you need to put a compound on after this,anyone got any tips or help on this subject,all tips greatley appreciated,all the best dezzer........

You'll get it down using very fine water paper.

Gel coat fillet

Use more gel coat than you need. Then use wet & dry to get it all even. Before apply the gel coat clean v well and apply some acetone ( nail varnise remover ) to area concerned.

you could also tape the area surrounding the scratch so you dont rub too far away from the scratch.
why does yer last cast always take an hour?
