Hi I am looking for a good spot to go tope fishing in N.ireland or the rep.ireland I would prefer it in the north if possible.
What kind of bait would I need or what works best at this time of year. would I need to use heaver gear 20lb line or 30lb are they far out and what is the best time to fish for them day or night in high or low tide and are they really a good fighting fish

tope fishing
Try Culdaff on the North coast between Malin Head and the Foyle around July-August they are normally there in good numbers had them there in the boat but don't know about the shore though there are a few good deep water marks around.....best of luck :)

always a possiblity at culdaff i suppose with the normal strong tide run on it and deep water etc, it might be worth exploring around the shoreline of the swillt etc too, if the deep channels are with in casting distance with a good sized mackerel bait, you never know!
