SHAMROCK TACKLE WINTER SHORE HUNT 2012/2013

#1 Post by jd »

Shamrock Tackle offer a chance to win a 15ft Alcedo Pride Surf Mediteareanea Fishing Rod, to be widely available in tackle shops across Ireland in 2013

This Italian designed 3 piece beach rod is designed for long range 'match' fishing. The blank is built using nano carbon which gives it a slightly crisper feel. It is a very light rod which has a surprising reserve of useable casting power. In common with most 'continental' rods the best performance comes from a smooth simple casting action and although rated to 200gms the fine and sensitive match tip is far happier with 4 and 5oz sinkers. The tip gives superb bite indication and will register bites really well if you are close range scratching or fishing at maximum distance. The rod is finished with SiC guides and has a screw winch. As reviewed in Sea Angler issue 482

All you have to do to enter is reply to this post and post a photograph of you and your catch, at the shore, while holding a packet of tackle from the shamrock tackle shore range. There is no limit on the amount of entries, so enter and post as many photo’s as you wish, no matter how big your fish is, reports are not necessary but welcomed.

Entries will be accepted until 28th February 2013, with the winner to be announced on or before 07th March 2013. The winner will be chosen at random from all the valid entries received. Entrants consent to their photographs being used for publicity purposes. There is no cash alternative to the prize and the decision is final.

Regards

Date : 30th Decemeber 2012
Venue : Greystones South Beach
Time : 4.30 - 7.00
Bait : Mackerel Sandeel and Wraps
Rigs : Two Hook shamrock tackle shore rigs
Results : Whiting whiting and more whiting up to 27cm

Decided to try out the Shamrock Tackle 2 hook flapper shore rigs that I heard a lot about, So armed with two rids I headed to Greystones South Beach. I was fishing at 4.30 and immediately into fish, whiting and more whiting was the order of the night. I lost count of how many I caught but was really impressed by the shamrock rigs. Rig mainline is 50lb, Snoods 30lb and the hook size 1 done the business even having to hall some weed in at times. Some photos but you can only show so many pics of whiting. Overall not a bad evenings fishing and well pleased with rigs that were well tied with top class components.

who stocks the shore rigs Mick? Have plenty of boat rigs here but none for the shore. Didn't even know they were available yet. Dying to try out a few.
