Report: With the kids(24 and 21) waiting for Santa at home, I decided to leave the comfort of the armchair at home and head for the comfort of Bray Harbour instead. There wasn't another soul on the pier as I set up but I was visited by the ghost of Christmas past,,,,,or Father Fishface as he likes to be called here. He showed me my future if I stayed here and it was bleak to say the least. It involved a lot of crabs and a disappointed Eyesreilly heading home with another Blank in the bag
. After giving me the benefit of his wisdom he disappeared in a puff of smoke and I was left alone once again 
. I made the brave decision to tough it out and set up after making a mental Christmas fish wish list to myself 
Top of the list was Codling and soon after casting out I had a sharp pull on the rod tip 
.It was a codling,,,,,only small but what a Joy on Christmas Eve, soon to be followed by another one in close, both on frozen lug . A further cast put me among the pin whiting and I had 2 of these , one of which was partnered by a crab, the two of them combining to give me the false hope of something decent . I cast among the rocks , and two lost rigs later I landed a nice shore rockling , almost 30cms,,, take that Father Fishface 
.It was rockies all the way from then on , and although I didn't get the 12 fish I was aiming for,,,,I managed 10 in all and left at 11-15pm when the bites dried up. Final tally was 2 x codling, 2 x whiting, 3 x shore rockling and 3 x 5 beard rockling. Arrived home just after midnight to find presents under the tree and an empty bottle of beer and a half eaten carrot
