Cheers Brian, I wish more would take that wrong turn! As far as I can see form talking to sea anglers over the years, more bass seem to be caught up around the north coast in winter for some reason, certainly around the Antrim coast- the only time a bass is heard of is Autumn/ Winter, I wish someone could explain it to me.

Cheers Nicefish, is there a prize for this prestigious accolade? A week on the Florida keys would be nice. Wow that is a big shout. Thanks, it was a very well appreciated bit of angling I can tell you.

JPA it was one of those freaky sessions and that was the freakiest bit. The plan came together like never before. My cousin said I should go and buy a lottery ticket when he saw the fish on the foul hooked rig.

Superb fishing Cathal. Good work on catching the bass on your cracked off rig!! The fish all look to be in great condition in the photos. Must have a look at the moon phase theory. Something I have heard alot about but never paid a great lot of attention to. Good luck with any future bassing sessions on the mark!!

Couldnt believe it Kev, Never thought it would happen. Every winter I find myself chattin to another angler that has at one time caught a bass somewhere around the north, just never really thought I would do enough shore fishing to be out on that right night in the right place. Unreal. Might never happen again.

Great report and nice fishing mate. Bet you were well happy and surprised to be so successful. Hope things keep going well for you.

We are suffering from a drought of cod down this neck of the woods, but got faith they will arrive some time, just a matter of when.

Regards Wez

Well done guys its good to see the effort paying off, if only everytime we hit that stretch of coastline it was like that we would save a fortune!!!!!
Y'all know me. Know how I earn a livin'. I'll catch this bird for you, but it ain't gonna be easy. Bad fish. Not like going down the pond chasin' bluegills and tommycods. This shark, swallow you whole. Little shakin', little tenderizin', an' down you go. And we gotta do it quick, that'll bring back your tourists, put all your businesses on a payin' basis. But it's not gonna be pleasant. I value my neck a lot more than three thousand bucks, chief. I'll find him for three, but I'll catch him, and kill him, for ten. But you've gotta make up your minds. If you want to stay alive, then ante up. If you want to play it cheap, be on welfare the whole winter. I don't want no volunteers, I don't want no mates, there's just too many captains on this island. Ten thousand dollars for me by myself. For that you get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing.

2010- Sea Trout, Codling, Pollock, Coalie, Whiting, Flounder, Doggies, Plaice, Dab.

Cheers Wez, surprised and happy is an understatement. Tried again yesterday eve but only small flounder and coley were caught. Still lovely being out on a moonlit Christmas eve having a go.

Happy Christmas, hope you get a good run of cod very soon.

Yeah Julio its not going to be a common occurance by any means. Would save a lot on fuel bills alright. Pity the bass fishing on the causeway coast isnt as good as the scenery, 2nd to none. Happy Christmas.
