It was that time of year again.. time for our Flounder king competition.. time to try defend my title.. we started fishing at half nine at the start of the rising tide.. the fishing was slow at the start of the session... plenty of jeering was flying around as usual as to who was gonna win.. Toss was first off the mark with a double header, one of them being a belter of a fish measuring in at just short of 45 cm and a good thick fish too.. cud well hav been a speciman but we had no scales.. Mick snr was next off the mark. Yet again another cracking fish which was 42cm.. so close but yet so far.. it had Toss worried all the same:) it went quite then for a while on the turn of the tide. Chris was next to hook up. a nice fish that on any other day cud hav been a winner, only for the two biggys that had been caught, Chris also got the self named title of Crab king as he caught more bait than he caught fish.. ha.. i was to catch the last fish of the day.. a nice little fish but like Chris`s fish it was no where near as big as Toss`s fish so they werent measured.. a great days fishing(and laugh) was had by all and Toss was crowned Flounder king for 2012 with a fish that was always gonna be hard to beat.. Well done lads . Great report and some massive fish, what was the best bait of the day ? Is this the time of year for the big flounder and was the ground sandy or muddy sorry for the questions but I knows of a spot similiar looking and I've still to fish it. hopefully this christmass.

best bair fresh lug and crab, best time of year for big flounder in an estuary is oct-nov-dec in muddy ground

And i would say the crack was as good as the fishing had a big flounder (42 cm)myself a few weeks ago
