friday and sunday beach sessions donegal bay

People:eamonn an myself on friday ,meself sunday

Duration:4hrs +4hrs

Tide:out then in

Weather:cold an wet then very cold and wet

Bait:frozen lug an frozen mack

Rigs:2up 1 down , 3hook flappers

Results:flounders




Report:
friday was a goin tide , got two rods set up an away we go ! 1st cast on long rod was a lovely fat fish at 26 cm. was a nice start but was a very steady fishin every 40mins i caught a fish so cannot complain . 5 fish in total all flonders 10cm was smallest an 36cm was biggest (some nice flounders goin now) poor old eamonn had the 1 flounder at26cm but as he said himself nice till get out for a while.
sunday
was at beach for 1.30 tide turnin to fill at 2 so bang on time ! forgot flask :( an it was cold sleety rainy blowing from everywhere crappy weather .massive run in it ,went till cast at one stage an 80steps later was back at tripod . slow day .. the 1st beach i fished i gave it 2hrs for 1x 25cm flounder and conditions got dodgy so time to get goin ,300yards away was another beach facin the other direction . a safer option , had 2 fish of this for 2hrs 25cm and 32cm flounder .

fair play fishmad, those conditions sound nasty.
i was one the other side of the country (antrim coast) on those two days too..
it was cold but i had nice clear days.. tho you did better than me!

You did well to get a few fish in those conditions, must be handy having 2 beaches so close yet facing opposite directions, you can almost always get some shelter. Did the fish show any preference for lug or mackerel?

its a very handy place to be near on is a surf beach and the other is so quiet both arent 200mtrs long . the frozen lug is the one i had most fish on mr west , i started using it about a month ago and have won longest flatie twice and once overall at night comps. but i still am a great beliver in macks the oily ones from up north that are landed this time of year .

aye i read your post your post you didnt get it easy either , but no matter how bad a day is even a wee fish can give you a boost but a blank makes me try harder the next time . keep the head up ! any help i can give you this side give me a pm an i'll do my best!

Sounds like a spot near killybegs I fished one night! Didn't see it in daylight but it was very fishy looking even in the moon light! 8) great to have two marks so close together!
