Some good fishing that,
Just owndering what is the most accurate tide table info for enereilly, is it Arklow, Wicklow Greystones??? Or what is the difference from Dublin,
Any help much appreciated as I intend to give it a shot this weekend.
I've only fished here once, (poor session too) and am wondering is there any "Hotspots" on the beach at the Pennycomequick bridge etc,
Cheers

Hi Alby,
I asked a similiar question on tides but there no definitive anwser. I think the best thing is to check the arklow tides on
http://easytide.ukho.gov.uk/
As this area can can have zero tide differentials and the tides are way out from Dublin/Wicklow. I'm heading up here for the weekend after next and I'm planning to fish here in the hope of getting a new species of ray for myself.

spotted and homelyn rays are the same fish, just a different regional name for them - ifsa specimen sizes 1.361kg shore, 2.268kg boat. there aint too many marks that turn them up on the shore up here so i might have to nip down this way to try and get one!
what is the best time of year on this beach?

Never known them down our parts to be called that but sure you learn something new everyday! The specimen fish committee refer to them as Homelyn's. Do the frequent any venues up North Phil? Again the only place I have heard of the them caught is Castletownbere or Ennereilly :?

some are caught around north donegal from the shore with the very occansional one appearing as out of the blue from some marks on the antrim coast
seen them on the boat from portrush, downings, and ballycastle and know they are caught in red bay - if you read in sea angler most of the time they are reffered to as spotted. but mostly reffered to as homelyn on the north coast too
