Breakaway Imps

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

Breakaway Imps

#1 Post by Drew »

Anyone else using these yet? Saw Lee using them @ Fahan, Seemed a Good Job, Bought a load myself and had no problems with them, Seems to be a Fool Proof bait release system.

What's your views?

Imp is a term for a mythological being similar to a fairy, frequently used in folklore.

I use them alot and find them great but for my pulleys I alway use a gemini lead link that can be clipped down as an alternative for snaggy venues due to their cost. I Know some people have problems using them over sand as it can get into the mechanism to prevent unclipping.

I thought they were great, ALWAYS released. Very fast way to build rigs. Know what you mean about sand clogging in them but would always be dipping the weight in the sea to remove sand anyway so it cleans the imp too.

Only thing I can think of where they fall down is that they would not accept a large bait as well as the Gemini ABC links.
