Donaghadee Pier 23.04.05
People:Myself, Drew and about 6 others
Duration: 6pm - 10pm
Tide: High at 7pm ish
Weather: Gorgeous but cold late on!
Bait: Mackeral
Rigs: The usual
Results: I caught nowt, blanking for my second time in a row, i've only been out twice, i'm not very good lol, Drew caught a small Coalfish dangling over the edge in desperation..
Report:
Blah, really great weather, postcard material but poor fishing, some of the other lads near us seemed to have more success anyway, seen him lift a good coalfish 1lb+... not a lot else to add right now... will add a pic later..
The dude in the wheel chair was very keen to learn and when he hooked a fish, only a small one, he was delighted, refused to let the people put it back until he had his photo taken with it

Had to listen to some old B*****D telling everyone he was talking to that I was fishing wrong cos my Baits weren't nailed to the bottom.... Which they were... So in case this old f****r is literate enough to use a computer he may want to know that if he could cast OVER 20 feet that the Angle of the Line still allows your snoods (ON A PROPER TRACE!) to be pretty hard to the bottom, I know this may be hard for him to consider, as you CAN'T clip down a *5 Hook* baited Feather trace attached to an 8oz Lead (Whats a shockleader?) on a £8.99 Kiddie spinning outfit!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've had to squirm various times as this idiot throws EVERYTHING he catches into a Tesco bag because 'He feeds half of Groomsport' Apparantly! Half of Groomsport with 8oz Coalies, Yeah Right....
People like this give the sport a bad name, But to put me down over something I believe I've become pretty damn good at over the past few years is a bit below the belt. Idiot.

Subtly
I would have subtly told him that I didn't think it was a good idea to be keeping all those little fish.

as you are honourary sai lord mayor of the pier drew, you should have just put the foot down, told him to chuck the fish back or go somewhere as people are now catch and release fishing , and if he wants to keep a decent sized fish by all means do so! i dont really do subtlety when in comes to things like that, i can see through a child knocking a wee fish on the head to parade their first caught fish around the family homes etc but sometimes it is best to speak up to these kind of people to get them to take a point on board, advise on casting an 8 oz lead on that set up woulda went down well too as a safety risk as you were all fishin real tight together by the look of it. old man or not, he shouldnt be endangering the public....or future local fish stocks!!
sometimes its good to be crude!!!

Drew, you're good at fishing? Sure you only get out once a month, if even! And as for your One Squillion postings, I think its time to let everyone know what goes on.....Drew creates new posts each night, and I delete them when I log in, lads....thats the secret.
