Kilbaha & Poulnasherry Co. Clare, 30th Sept

#1 Post by agardiner22 »

People[Me,my son and my nephew]:

Duration[Night at Kilbaha and Day at poulnasherry]:

Tide[all kinds]:

Weather[windy]:

Bait[mack and lures]:

Rigs[flappers and pulley]:

Results[1 dogfish at Kilbaha and a monkfish at Poul]:

Report[fishing was very poor at kilbaha while conger fishing, compared to the last night we had there. 1 dogfish is all we got on our 1st cast and nowt for the rest. We finished fairly early and tented at the right side of the pier. We had intended on the following day to target wrasse on the atlantic coast but there was too much of a swell that made it dangerous so we headed for Poulnasherry we hadnt much bait left due to the conger fishing so we only spent a couple of hours here and caught the monkfish on the 2nd hour of the coming tide, to all of our surprise also have to say that Poulnasherry is a beautiful spot and I cant wait to head back there]:

well spotted, you are right, it's a great sculpin, they can grow up to 60cm whereas the 'fatherlasher' only reaches max. 18cm. A rather rare catch, well done that man 8)
