Report:
Went to a beach mark this evening that has thrown up a few bass for me this year. First cast missed a really bassy bite as did the lad fishing with me, thought this is could be a good session only for the next two hours not a bite to be had . Right slap on low water at ten thirty got a very timid bite, thought it was a flattie, waited for it to develop, again only a very timid nibble then noticed line slack , so reeled in hard and connected with the fish, thought school bass maybe, then the fish exploded into life in the suds, managed to get her in easy enough though. Few quick photos, most of which are blurry due to the adrenaline rush , quick weighing on the boga, the fish was bouncing around 11-12 lb, my buddy had a better scales so quick weigh bang on 12 lb and back into the briney with her. Happy ain't the word for it , no more fish after that but could care less!

well done on the PB Declan, downside is the next will be harder to achieve

A big well done lad
I'd be over the moon with a bass half that size

Thanks lads, a fish of a lifetime for me, being trying for along time to get one over 10lbs, had a good few just under 10 but thats all history now .
Pat, the fish was measured from tip to fork of tail as i wanted to get her back in the water as quick as possible and the fish was very lively when landed although it came in like a lamb .

Ah, that explains it as a fish that size should be about 80cm in length overall. I was curious as some fish down your direction and more towards Wexford seem to be fatter and stockier than our lot. They seem to come in at double figures from 72cm overall whereas on our patch they'd need to be 78cm and over normally. Mind you I've seen some fact feckers from 74cms overall upwards. Brilliant fish Declan, well done!!!
